2022 Toronto Labour Day Parade

This year’s parade is the 150th anniversary of the first labour march in the streets of Toronto, and we are excited to once again be participating. 

Join us on September 5th, as we take to the streets alongside over 20,000 labour members in recognition of our ongoing fight for justice in and out of the workplace. Invite your sisters, brothers, and colleagues and bring your family!

Assembly time is 8:00 am. Local 183 will be in section 2 located on the West Side of University Avenue North from Queen St. W. to Armoury Street. The parade starts at 9:30 am sharp. 

Shirts will be given out to members marching in the parade with Local 183.  After the parade, participants are invited to join the festivities at the CNE. Free wristbands will be available for parade participants.

Bargaining Update – Restoration Sector

On June 25th the members voted to ratify the Restoration Agreement, and there is now a new collective agreement in place between the Union and the Restoration Contractors’ Association.

On June 6, 2022, the LIUNA OPDC ratified the ICI Agreement. 

The new collective agreement is now in effect, wage increases are retroactive to Monday May 2nd, 2022.

On May 21st the members voted to renew the Self-Levelling Agreement.

Bargaining Update – Strike Ended in High Rise Formwork

On May 20th the members voted to ratify the Formwork Agreement, as did the Formwork Council of Ontario. There is therefore now a new collective agreement in place between the Ontario Formwork Association and the Formwork Council of Ontario. The strike is now over and Local 183 members working in the Formwork Sector can return to work.
