Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 183 hosted their 24th annual charity golf tournament raising money for charities across the GTA.
TORONTO – Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 183 raised $1,779,980.72 for numerous charities across the Greater Toronto Area through its 24th annual charity golf tournament – breaking previous fundraising records.
Each year, LiUNA Local 183 brings together members, retirees, and management partners from across Ontario to support organizations that make a lasting difference in communities throughout the Greater Toronto Area. What began over two decades ago as a modest fundraiser has evolved into one of the largest single-day golf tournaments in North America, spanning fourteen premier GTA courses and welcoming a record 2,016 participants.
“Our union is built on the foundation of solidarity, not just on job sites, but in the community as well,” said Jack Oliveira, Business Manager of LiUNA Local 183. “This tournament is a shining example of what we can accomplish together. Every dollar raised is invested in communities and is a reflection of our commitment to making a positive impact where we live and work.”
“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built,” Oliveira continued. “Each year, we say it’s our biggest tournament ever – and each year, we raise the bar. It’s a testament to the strength and generosity of our members, retirees, and contractor partners.”
LiUNA Local 183’s commitment to giving back continues to grow year after year. Through events like the annual golf tournament, the union has helped fund critical services and community programs across Ontario, from hospitals and youth programs to shelters and food banks.
As LiUNA Local 183 looks ahead to its milestone 25th tournament in 2026, its legacy of compassion and leadership in charitable giving continues to inspire and uplift communities across the province.
