TORONTO – Labourers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 183 raised $1,533,789.56 for numerous charities across the Greater Toronto Area through its 23rd annual charity golf tournament – breaking previous fundraising records.
A dedicated supporter of community organizations, LiUNA Local 183’s leadership, members, and retirees proudly support charitable initiatives across Ontario through major fundraisers, including their annual charity golf tournament.
“Our annual golf tournament is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of our union’s solidarity and our shared commitment to giving back to the community” said Jack Oliveira, Business Manager for LiUNA Local 183. “Every year our members and retirees are proud to support various local charities. It’s heartening to witness the profound impact of their contributions on so many lives in the communities where they work and live.”
This year’s tournament was one the largest single-day tournaments in North America, spread across twelve of the GTA’s best golf courses, which included 1728 participants from across Ontario.
“This was our biggest tournament yet and we will continue to reach new heights,” continued Oliveira. “Thanks to the support of our members and partners, our collective effort is building a legacy of compassion and support.”
